You can upgrade a weapon's fire power, speed, spread, and ammo capacity. Weapons are upgradeable in ZombiU with parts you find. All of the zombies that you have already killed with your previous characters will remain dead, but you must still watch out for not only the zombies that have killed your previous character, but your previous character him or herself! When you start as a new character, you only have the Cricket Bat and a Handgun with 6 shots. They do not have to be on your friends list to appear in the game. There's always a good chance that you'll hit the jackpot and find a zombie-friend with a fully stocked bug out bag. However, it's important to note that if you are connected to the Internet and have activated Miiverse, other players who have died may also appear in the game as zombies. Be warned though, if you die before retrieving your supplies from your previous survivor, then they will be lost forever. If you kill your former self, you can take all of the supplies you used to have back, excluding any items that your previous survivor had equipped. You must now go find your old Zombified character. Those familiar with the game Dark Souls will know what comes next. You know what? That's OK! If you do die, you get respawned back at the Safe House as a different survivor.
